The Community Blood Center welcomes Lamekia Davis as Executive Director

October 7, 2024

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lamekia Davis as Executive Director for Chicago area operations. With over a decade of experience in corporate banking with BMO and JP Morgan Chase, Lamekia brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our organization as we work to expand our donor base in the Chicago area.

Lamekia’s impact on the Chicago community is undeniable. As the founder and former Executive Director of the Heyy Girl Foundation, she has been a driving force in empowering young women and supporting underserved communities through literacy and education. Her dedication to public service is further reflected in her role as an elected member of the Board of Education in Rich Township and as a Commissioner of the African American League of Professionals.

A lifelong Chicago resident, Lamekia’s commitment to the community has earned her recognition as one of Illinois’ “Emerging Women Leaders” and an “Unsung Hero” by the State of Illinois.

“We are incredibly excited to have Lamekia Davis join our team,” said John Hagins, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Her passion for community service and her proven track record of leadership make her the perfect fit for this role. We look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly make as we continue to grow and serve the southside community.”

CBC is proud to welcome Lamekia Davis to the team.
