The Community Blood Center teams up with Northwestern Mutual to Strikeout Cancer

August 6, 2024

The Community Blood Center (CBC) is excited to announce our role as a sponsor for “Strikeout Cancer,” a community event to raise awareness and support the children and families whose lives have been impacted by pediatric cancer. The event will take place on Saturday, August 24, at Fox Cities Stadium, and is hosted by the Northwestern Mutual Fleisner Agency.

CBC invites you to open your hearts and join us for a special game of baseball, played by children and their families whose lives have been affected by cancer. The event also features inning activities, and offers family fun with face painting, balloon making, bounce houses, concessions, and a 50/50 raffle. Proceeds from this event benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and Special Spaces.

ALSF is the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S., focused on funding critical research and supporting childhood cancer families. Northwestern Mutual has been a proud supporter of this organization for over 10 years, with more than $40 million in total donations.

Special Spaces is a nonprofit which provides dream bedroom makeovers to children dealing with cancer, giving them a place just to be a kid! Their teams of dedicated volunteers, sponsors, community partners have helped over 1700 children throughout the United States.

The first pitch will be thrown at 1 p.m. and gates open at noon. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased here.
